China 9 "China Zoo"

 A day at the zoo. We had time to kill so we went on the subway and found the zoo. The admission price was $2.00 dollars (can't beat that in the US). We came upon the small statues of the animals that the years in China are named after.
The Chinese Zodiac, known as Sheng Xiao, is based on a twelve year cycle, each year in that cycle related to an animal sign. These animal signs are the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. (http://www.travelchinaguide.com/intro/social_customs/zodiac/)
My year is the horse;
Brian's the mouse;
Hadley's the rabbit;
We actually bought each of the children an ornament for the year they were born.

the animals were mostly the same.

another day closer to going home...
