China Day 7 'Thanksgiving in China"

Day 7: Thanksgiving Day in China
Today we have the medical examination for Hadley. We met Helen at 9:15 in the lobby, and we went with Michael & Mary to the medical affairs office. Pictures were taken of the kids, and then we waited for the general examinations to be done.  The doctor asked us a few questions, looked her over and then we waited to have blood work done. The nurse came and got our sweet girl and off she went to have blood drawn. I waited to hear her cry (she has the softest cry ever). But we never heard it, in just a few minutes they brought her right back. Hadley never shed a tear, she just held the band aid and then in a few minutes she instructed me to take if off. We were finished, and Helen quickly escorted us back to the van.
Helen took us to a market place. I bought a few items. I got the little drum toys, and two small handbags for each of the girls. These were embroidered in her home province. Then Helen took us to a store that had fresh water pearls. We got a necklace made for Hadley to have on her wedding day.

Then we decided to try to eat as a family with Michael and Mary later that evening. We wanted a "Thanksgiving" meal and the closest thing to that we could come up with was KFC. So we caught a cab and went to the closest KFC around. We were very disappointed when we arrived and discovered that the Chinese KFC is nothing like the KFC we had. Needless to say, we left and I ended up eating cheesecake for dinner from Starbucks. Oh well there's always next Thanksgiving!
